Local DAA group invites non-members to become dementia aware

Tue 11th August 2015

The East Riding Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) is celebrating 7 months in Beverley during World Alzheimer’s Month.

On Monday 21 September the group is inviting non-members to attend their presentation ceremony, where Graham Stuart MP will be presenting recognition certificates to members. Non-members are invited to find out how the DAA can help their organisations and businesses become dementia friendly.

The East Riding DAA aims to support communities and businesses within the East Riding to take low or no cost actions which enable people with dementia to be active and involved.

A third of people with dementia say they do not feel part of their community. Joining the DAA is free and allows businesses to become dementia aware, benefitting both the business and the community, and allows business owners to display the ‘Working to become Dementia Friendly’ logo.

To book your free place at the ceremony please visit www.eventbrite.co.uk or contact Emma Williams on 01482 211255 or emma.williams@alzheimers.org.uk
