Beverley's own World-class amateur Latin American dancer, Chantal Green and her partner, Sicilian Andrea Borrelli, are going to perform at Flemingate this weekend!

They will be performing dance routines on Saturday and Sunday outside Deli No 1 to help raise funds so they can compete in the World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF) Championships being held in China later this year.

Chantal and Andrea are currently studying at the world famous Team Diablo Academy in Italy, coached by Gabriele Goffredo and Anna Matus. They are the WDSF's No 1 ranked Latin American dance sport couple in England and are currently undergoing a gruelling six-days-a-week training programme in readiness for the World Championship. They have represented England 13 times in competitions all over the world, including the WDSF European Championships in Rimini, Italy.

The dancing duo are supported by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Talented Performer Scheme for athletes representing England internationally. However, Chantal is not eligible for a grant as she no longer meets the age criteria, so the couple need to raise enough money to cover the cost of flights and visas to compete in the World Championships in Chengdu, China, on September 24th and 25th.

Graham Tait, Flemingate Centre Manager, said: “Chantal and Andrea are very talented dancers and it’s great to support their fund-raising efforts to enable them to compete at the World Championships in China next month.

“We hope that lots of Beverley residents and visitors will come along to Flemingate to watch them perform their amazing Latin American routines and give them their full support.”

Chantal and Andrea will perform Latin American dance routines at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm on Saturday, August 6, and at 2.30pm and 3.30pm on Sunday, August 7, outside Deli No.1 at Flemingate.
