This year Jerry Green Dog Rescue are asking you for your support so they can continue to change the lives of the rescue dogs they have in their care.

Andrea Beer, Head of Income Generation at the charity says: “As a charity which receives no government support, donations are what keep us afloat and able to do what we do. For our 2019 Christmas campaign we have decided to encourage donations that will go towards our food and vet bills as year on year these costs are one of our biggest outlays.

“We’re also challenged by the fact that dogs are now staying in our care for longer, increasing our costs further. In 2017 an average stay for a jerry green dog in kennels was 27.83 days, yet in 2018 the average length of stay is 32.18 days. This is due to the types of dogs that are coming into our care, we’re finding we have more dogs who need that extra bit of support with their training or have medical difficulties which need to be addressed before they can be re-homed.”

The charity's Christmas campaign focuses on a short video filmed at their East Yorkshire Centre and follows the journey of a dog who finds himself without a home and in the care of the Centre while showing just some of the support the charity offers.
