Help needed to plant over 400 trees at Woodmansey Primary School

Woodmansey Primary School is looking for volunteers to help plant 420 trees. The school’s parent, teacher and friends association (PTFA) has won a donation of trees from The Woodland Trust and needs volunteers to help plant them on Sunday 19th November 2017. The trees are being planted to provide food sources for woodland wildlife and create a living legacy for future generations.

The school grounds will be open between 11am to 2pm and all ages are welcome. You can help for the whole session or just pop along and plant a single tree. Tree types include hawthorn, rowan, blackthorn, silver birch, hazel and common oak. As a special bonus anyone taking part will also have the opportunity to name a tree after themselves or someone special. Name tags will be available on the day for a small donation. All money raised will support other parts of the Woodmansey PTFA ambitious ‘Great Outdoor Project’ which aims to create an amazing outdoor area for the children.

Bethan Nicholls Woodmansey’s new Head of School, as part of a new partnership arrangement with Molescroft Primary School said ‘we are delighted the PTFA has won this donation and we look forward to welcoming volunteers on Sunday 19th November to plant their family tree’.
