Events at Humber Bridge Country Park and Beverley Parks Nature Reserve

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Countryside Access team has arranged events throughout the summer holidays for children and families to get outdoors and explore and have fun.

Kids Go Wild events will be as follows:

Butterfly Safari : Humber Bridge Country Park : Cliff Road, Hessle Foreshore : Tuesday, 1 August

Join in the annual butterfly count in the meadows, and make a colourful butterfly to take home. Meet Barmy Butterfly, and take part in fun and games.

The event will be run by the countryside access team, Rusticus, and wildlife artist Michele Davy.

There will be two sessions: 10am-12.30pm, and 1pm-3.30pm. Drop in any time during the sessions.

Wildlife Safari and Art Activities : Beverley Parks Nature Reserve, Long Lane, Beverley : Tuesday, 8 August

Explore the orchard, looking at ladybirds, bees and butterflies – find out what a butterfly likes for lunch, and how it tastes with its feet, and why bumble bees are so important.

The event will be run by the countryside access team and wildlife artist Michele Davy.

Sessions will be: 10am – 12 noon and 1pm -3pm. Tickets cost £2.50 per child, and accompanying adults go free. Drop in any time during the sessions. All places must be booked online in advance:

Woodland Discovery and Art Activities: Humber Bridge Country Park, Cliff Road, Hessle Foreshore: Tuesday, 15 August

Explore the woods on a minibeast hunt, and meet beautiful bugs and boggle-eyed beasties. Collecting pots, leaf shakers and ID sheets will be provided. Help make a giant land art creature with natural materials.

Just Beverley
