Autumn 2016 sees the return of East Yorkshire Open Studios, an event that, this year, pulls in even more local artists, designers and makers to showcase their original work for sale at 68 venues across the county from Bridlington, Driffield, Pocklington, and Beverley to parts of Hull.

Over two weekends, 8/9th and 15/16th October, as well as group exhibitions in galleries, schools and village halls, the private studios and inner sanctums of the region’s most talented and successful creative people will be opened to the public.

One visitor last year described the event as “…the perfect Sunday drive where we saw how the beautiful landscape inspires and gives rise to a wide range of stunning artwork from pottery to paintings and handmade prints, jewellery, sculpture and even textiles and photography. There’s something for everyone!”

In many cases, visitors will enjoy a unique opportunity to meet and talk to the artists and makers, observe their working practices and techniques, perhaps even sign up for workshops and courses. And of course, every venue presents a chance to acquire or commission affordable original works of art direct from the maker.

A free colour brochure to help you plan your route will be published and widely circulated from mid August but for more information go to www.eastyorkshireopenstudios.com
