Eyja British Schools Champs Winners Png

The East Yorkshire Judo Academy players competed in the British Schools Championships held at Sheffield Institute of Sport where they represented their own schools.

Tommy Jackson carried on his recent rich vein of form, representing Malet Lambert School. Tommy started the day well with two quick wins, earning him a semi-final spot. In the semi-final Tommy had a known competitor Will Stables (Huddersfield); Tommy fought out a very tough victory landing him a place in the final, which Tommy also won with a hold down. Tommy is now a Gold Medal winner and British Schools Champion.

The result has earned Tommy a place to represent England in a tournament in Bremen, where he will be with team-mates Sean Tooby, representing Great Britain and Logan Campbell, also representing England.

Elleysha Tennison (South Holderness), Madeline Kissenisky (Cottingham High School), James Hindle and Spencer Camish all gave good accounts for themselves with Elleysha and Spencer losing in the bronze medal semi-finals.

Well done to you all!
