East Riding Theatre Goes Wireless Thanks To Beverley Chamber Of Trade

The East Riding Theatre (ERT) is thrilled to announce it has received a generous donation from the Beverley Chamber of Trade.

The funds were awarded at the Chamber's Christmas party held on November 29th, 2023, at the East Riding Golf Club in Beverley. The event featured a series of games played by representatives from local charities and businesses, where the “prizes” were donations from BCoT to the participating charities.

Representing ERT were Sasha Walker-Allen, Theatre Manager and Diane Claughton, Corporate Development Officer. Joining them on their team were Lynne and John McBride with Dorian Brown from Tolle Kitchens who were key players in winning ERT this donation, which has been used to buy new technical equipment for the theatre.

The new equipment includes tank traps and wireless microphones. These additions will allow ERT to create more flexible staging options. By using scaffold bars with the tank traps, the theatre can establish freestanding lighting and scenery positions, enabling dramatic back and side lighting effects with lights mounted on both the stage and floor. Additionally, the wireless microphones will enhance spoken word events and musical performances by eliminating the need for cumbersome cables. This generous donation from BCoT allows ERT to continue to build and improve its technical capabilities.
