Pyjamarama

East Riding Libraries are encouraging families across the region to celebrate the bedtime story and reading together by joining in this year's ‘Pyjamarama’, organised by the BookTrust, and held this Friday (1 May). It will be a day when families across the area can join in a festival of story-filled fun at home.

There'll be loads of activities and events for children to take part in – the only requirement is that they're done in pyjamas!

To make things even more fun, PJ Masks, Horrid Henry and Tracy Beaker will be on board. They’ll be helping out and providing extra ideas and activities for a brilliant day in pyjamas on Friday, 1 May.

To take part, sign up to the Pyjamarama website:  https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/pyjamarama/   to receive the Pyjamarama newsletter, packed full of info about the day and a sneak peek at the line-up of story-filled fun.

Some of the nation’s best-loved authors, illustrators and well-known faces will put together an exciting day of live events – all in pyjamas.

Share pictures or stories about the day using #Pyjamarama.

East Riding Libraries will add to the fun by posting ‘Did you Know’ facts throughout the day on their social media. For example : Did you know that, when babies look at high contrast and black and white images, it helps their eye muscles to strengthen and coordinate, and helps the brain to function properly?
