Have you thought about standing for Beverley Town Council?

Beverley Town Council is organising a prospective new Councillor evening on Wednesday 4 March at 6.30pm at the Emmaus Room at Minster Yard North, Beverley. We welcome people who live or work in the community to come along and find out more information about how to stand as a Councillor in Beverley.

Alan Barker, Chief Executive of the East Riding and North East Lincolnshire Local Councils Association will present the information along with the Mayor of Beverley and a representative from East Riding of Yorkshire Council, who will explain the application and election process.

The Mayor of Beverley, Cllr Paul McGrath said: ‘’The session will outline the roles responsibilities and expectations of anyone wishing to stand as a new Councillor at the elections in May. It is not necessary that you are part of any political party it is more about the willingness and ability to make the commitment to serve the community that you live or work in. The application  process will be explained at the event for those potentially interested in becoming councillors to understand the full expectation.’’
