Christmas Wonderland at Sledmere House!

Wed 13th November 2019
Winter Warming Refreshments Coach House Cafe

Christmas festivities have started at Sledmere House, with plenty of events to entertain and delight in the run-up to Christmas!

First stop is The Woodyard at Sledmere House, which has transformed into The Woodyard Christmas Shop, a wonderland of beautiful Christmas decorations, unique festive gifts and cosy winter homeware. Take a look and prepare to be inspired, perhaps you’ll find that perfect present!

The Woodyard Christmas Shop is open from Tuesday to Sunday between 10am and 4.30pm.

Plus on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th November between 10.30am and 2.30pm, there will be a special seasonal talk entitled “A Taste of a Victorian Christmas” - your chance to find out all about Christmas in bygone times!

You will be greeted by our head guide Alicia at the Farm Shop, and after a short stroll down the driveway will enter the house through the Stone Hall where there will be coffee, tea and biscuits waiting for you on arrival. After all have congregated, everyone will adjourn to the Library for a fascinating talk on how the Victorians celebrated the festive season.

A light lunch will be served in The Orangery, which will be followed by a demonstration in the Library of the past and present ways of wrapping Christmas Gifts.

Finally, a warming sherry and mince pies will be served in the main hall. After sherry, you will have free time to walk around the grounds and visit our Woodyard Christmas Shop.

Price £35 per person. Sledmere Friends are eligible for a £5 discount per member. There are limited spaces for this event and booking online is required.
