A little (lady)bird has said that Christmas is coming, and East Riding Libraries have got just the thing to get young residents in that festive spirit.

Join East Riding Libraries for joyful Storytimes and Bounce & Rhymes with the wonderful ‘What the Ladybird Heard at Christmas’ and ‘Peppa and the Christmas Elf’.

Will Peppa’s wish for an adventure with a Christmas elf come true, and will the cleverest little ladybird save Christmas from the sneaky stocking-stealing criminals?

With themed activities too, these free events are perfect for entertaining little ones through the Christmas holidays.

Librarian Hannah Gibbs said: “We just love a themed Storytime and can’t wait to share some Christmas cheer with these fantastic stories and activities.

‘What the Ladybird Heard’ has always been a particular favourite of ours, so we are really excited to be showcasing the new Christmas version with our littlest library-lovers, and of course everyone’s favourite pig, Peppa, is always a hit too!”

Councillor Mike Medini, portfolio holder for culture, leisure, libraries, and customer services, added: “Our school holiday Storytimes and Bounce & Rhyme sessions are always hugely popular, and our libraries team always look forward to running them, and especially at Christmas! They are a great way to keep little ones entertained during the festive season.”

The first event is on Monday, 5 December at the Hornsea Hub, and sessions run until Friday, 23 December, at Flamborough Library. Some of the events need to be booked in advance.
