Business support invaluable

The Energy Technology Centre, which will be situated in a purpose-built facility in the Flemingate development later this year, has been providing invaluable support to local businesses.

The ETC, which is funded by East Riding College and the European Regional Development Fund, offers help, advice and financial support to create jobs and improve efficiencies.

Tamara Hall from Molescroft Farm is one of the ETC's beneficiaries. She said: "We use a lot of water, particularly after the harvest, when we need to keep our stored grain cool. One of the ways the ETC helped was to carry out a feasibility study for a rainwater harvest system, which is now in use."
