Beverley artist Trevor Dingle in London Exhibition

Tue 5th June 2018
Persistence Of Vision

Beverley based artist Trevor Dingle is showing his work 'Persistence of Vision: Naked in the City of Culture' at Candid Arts Trust Gallery, 3-5 Torrens Street London EC1V 1NQ as part of the annual Salon des Refuses exhibition organised by Happenstance Art & Framing for works submitted to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition but not selected.

The exhibition will run from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th June 2018.

The work was shot in Hull during the City of Culture year and shows naked shop dummies and the since demolished Star and Garter pub.

In one way it is a traditional black and white photographic print, hand made in the darkroom from negative film, but as it was printed from several seconds of movie film running at 18 frames per second, the print is a composite of many individual negatives and so unique due to the process of stopping and starting the projector and placing the photographic paper in front of it.

The gallery is located just off City Road and a two minute walk from Angel tube station.
