ArtWaves returns for a fourth year to Bridlington Spa on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May 2018, transforming the venue into a vibrant hub of workshops, demonstrations, activities and much more.

The visual arts festival fringe programme is now underway with workshops and evening events being staged across the week with returning artists such as Robert Dutton and Carol Davidson, alongside specially curated evening events from Hornsea Art Society and Bridlington Art Society.

Throughout the week, visitors are invited to place votes for their favourite pieces in the Open Exhibition which is now running in the Gallery. Results will be unveiled during the main festival alongside the brand new Open Air Painting Competition and Young Persons’ Exhibition.

Festival director Lauren Frost said : “The main festival weekend is set to be the biggest yet, with a vast array of activities for people to get creative and try their hand at something new.”

For those with some artistic experience, the main stage will become home to several free demonstrations across the weekend from national artists to observe some new tricks and tips before booking onto a workshop for something a little more in depth.

The festival is embracing the urban roots of Bridlington once again by transforming South Cliff HolidayPark/Bridlington Park and Ride into an urban hub featuring some of the country’s most respected street artists for a truly unique canvas transformation.

Young creatives can once again undertake the Arts Award Discover challenge, exploring the festival and completing a log book to claim a piece of ArtWaves gold in the festival’s pirate themed scavenger hunt.

The full festival programme is available online at Bridspa.com/artwaves and from Bridlington Spa Box Office.
