In the latest phase of improvements to Beverley Art Gallery, East Riding of Yorkshire Council is installing wi-fi. In addition, displays in the gallery will be improved even further by the installation of more LED lighting.

Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for civic wellbeing and culture, said: “This is great news for the art gallery, which has already benefited from a superb refurbishment. The new wi-fi will allow us to display artworks that explore new media, and to use the space available for a range of activities which require internet access. This is another huge step forward for Beverley Art Gallery.”

During the work, one of the galleries will be closed from Monday, 2 February to Saturday, 7 February. The final day of the Open Art exhibition will therefore now be Saturday, 31 January.

An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson added: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this work, but would like to reassure our visitors that the gallery will be an even better facility after its completion.”
