700 jobs at flemingate development

Mon 1st June 2015

700 jobs will be becoming available as part of the new Flemingate development.

The construction project, which will see a six-screen cinema, hotel, numerous restaurants and retailers, is due to open this October.

Some positions are already being filled with recruitment underway at the £70 million commercial development.

Jobs are being created in roles from cleaning and security to retail management and catering on the site, which is being developed by Hull-based Wykeland Group.

The building will be the largest in the town since the construction of Beverley Minster, almost 600 years ago. Sitting so close to the Minster site, the Flemingate development will show off Beverley’s contemporary architecture alongside the historic.

Shops opening at the site include Topshop and Topman, Debenhams, H&M and Wilkinson.

The plans for the site have been in place for more than ten years, with the development accompanying another £50 million housing development on the neighbouring plot.

Members of the public are invited to tour the site on 10 June at 4.30pm. Places are limited and attendees are required to bring their own safety wear. For more information about the tour, email info@delaneymarlingpartnership.co.uk
